Threads for Thought: Bandanas

I'm not one to knock a tie, I usually spend more time figuring out which tie to wear than what shirt or shoes, and when you put on the perfect tie, its readily apparent. But ties aren't always appropriate and you still need something in your outfit to bring it all together, and this is where the bandana comes in handy.
This is how you SHOULD wear a bandana.
Bandanas are essentially really big pocket squares so its not that far removed from anything you already wear on a day-to-day basis, you'll just be wearing it a little differently. There are many ways to wear them, but my input would lead you to roll and tie it as opposed to the "el bandito" look that you'd recognize from any western flick. I would stray away from the any solid options and go for anything with a simple pattern, like paisley or polka dots, and keep the color palette to 2 or 3 different colors max.
This is how you SHOULDN'T wear a bandana.
All in all, the bandana will add a sense of sophistication to your look while at the same time giving you a very casual twist, and the juxtaposition of wearing one with a suit would be quite an amazing statement.

Keep the bandana in mind this sunny season! Check in tomorrow for more of my fashion faux pas and next Thursday for more threads that deserve your consideration.
